acumen advisers was founded in 1997 by Greg Lucas. The mission of acumen advisers is to provide clients with objective, well-researched and insightful financial advice, which is practical in application – in summary, financial advice that makes sense.

For over 20 years, Greg has been working in and studying the banking and finance industry to implement best practice advice for his own portfolio and those of his clients. It’s his passion.
Greg graduated from Bond University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Commerce, specialising in Marketing and Real Estate Development. On completion of his MBA at Griffith University, he was admitted to the Director’s List in recognition of outstanding academic achievement.
Greg is a regular lecturer in Financial Planning for Community Colleges throughout the Blue Mountains and Sydney, and for a number of public and private companies.
Greg has been a director of Korowal School since 2010 and has been the Chairman since 2011. He acts in these roles in an honorary capacity.
When not providing financial advice, Greg loves to work in his garden at Leura and enjoy time with his two children.
Melanie is not only responsible for managing the administrative component of the implementation of recommendations that Greg makes to all clients, but is also responsible for answering any of your queries regarding the administration of your portfolio and insurances.
Melanie was born and raised in New Zealand and moved to the Blue Mountains in 2001 where she resides with her husband and two children. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree and has worked in several customer service positions where she demonstrated excellent interpersonal and written skills. She brings over 20 years of experience in all aspects of small business management including financial reporting.
Kylie joined acumen advisers in 2013 and has brought with her a proven ability and experience as an Office Manager. Her role at acumen advisers is to ensure that the office runs smoothly.
